CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD & PRESIDENT
Erwin J. Plesko is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received his BBA in Finance in 1951 and MBA in 1952.
Mr. Plesko began his career working as an investment analyst for New York Life Insurance Company at its world headquarters in New York City. In 1954, Mr. Plesko returned to Milwaukee and co-founded the equity investment firm, Continental Securities, Inc.
In 1962, Mr. Plesko left Continental Securities, Inc. to form Plesko/Heller Properties with Mr. S.E. Heller. Together they developed a number of major commercial properties in the Midwest and Southeast markets of the United States throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. Mr. Plesko later partnered with Jupiter Realty Company, where as a Vice President focused on development, he helped establish and oversee Jupiter’s retail shopping center division.
In 1976, E.J. Plesko & Associates, Inc. (EJPA) was established to develop, manage and own shopping centers, apartments, hotels, office buildings and industrial commercial properties. Mr. Plesko serves as President and Chairman of the Board of EJPA, and oversees and manages all of EJPA's real estate developments and investments.
Mr. Plesko remains actively involved in the University of Wisconsin community. He is a member of the Bascom Hill Society, UW Madison Dean’s Advisory Board, the UW Madison AREIT Board and the UW Madison Graaskamp Board as well as funding the E.J. Plesko Chair of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics and the E.J. Plesko Distinguished Speaker Series in Real Estate Development. Mr. Plesko sits on the Board of Advisors for the Everest Real Estate Fund, the Board of Directors of Chicago Energy Associates, LLC, and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He contributes to numerous charitable endeavors and organizations through the E.J. Plesko Foundation.
