CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER & SECRETARY/TREASURER
Gerard K. Mello graduated magna cum laude from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emittsburg, Maryland in 1983. He earned a B.S. degree in Accounting and became a CPA in 1985. Upon graduation, he worked for the CPA firm of M.B. Hariton & Company, a large Washington, D. C. accounting firm. He worked primarily on real estate clients doing both tax and audit work.
In 1987, Mr. Mello accepted a position as controller for The Miller Companies, a Washington, D.C. based commercial real estate development and management company. In 1994, he became controller of The Nellis Corporation, also a Washington, D.C. based commercial real estate development and management company.
In 1997, Mr. Mello accepted his current position as CFO for E. J. Plesko & Associates, Inc. (EJPA). In that position, he oversees an accounting staff that is responsible for production of all financial records and reporting, processing all receivables and payables, cash management, construction accounting and budgeting for EJPA and all of its affiliates. Additionally, he works with outside accounting firms in tax planning and preparation and oversees property insurance matters, project financings and refinancings, regulatory filings and the EJPA retirement plan.
Mr. Mello is married, has six children and resides in Madison, WI.
